Grace Carney

Grace Carney

CARNEY, Grace R. (Norton) Age 89, of Centerville, formerly of Waltham, died on January 28, 2021. Beloved wife of the late John (Bud) Carney. Devoted mother to John T. Carney, Jr. of Fernandina Beach, FL, Marybeth Carney of Framingham, Patricia Carney of Lexington, Paul Carney and his wife Lovisa of Osterville, and David Carney of Framingham. Loving grandmother of Patrick Carney, Kelsey Carney, and Olivia Carney. She leaves her sister, Sr. Jane Norton SBS of Philadelphia, PA. Sister of the late Mary Ahearn, Ann Norton, Thomas Norton, Philip Norton, and Doris Mckenna. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Carney. Grace is survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. A graduate of St. Bernard's High School and Framingham State Teacher's College, Grace was a dedicated elementary school teacher in the Waltham Public Schools for 23 years. When it is safe to do so, a Celebration of Life will be held in Grace's honor. Memorial donations to the Grace Norton Carney Scholarship at UMass Amherst College of Education.
