Patricia Burke is a happily retired elementary school teacher and a lifelong Waltham resident. Pat and her husband raised three children who all successfully attended and graduated from the Waltham school system. Judith Ferolito worked at St. Elizabeth's Hospital from 1966-1978 and first became a part of the Waltham Public Schools as a library aide at the Lawrence School in 1975 when her younger daughter entered Kindergarten. It was there that she saw firsthand what school nurses do. Her children's school nurse, Jane Egan, encouraged her to get on the substitute list since Judy was helping Jane when she was at her "other schools". Judy started substituting for Health Services and in Health Career classes. In June 1982, Judy became a full time nurse at Waltham High, and retired in 2000 as Nursing Supervisor/Director. Judy was greatly influence by her role models and predecessors Mary Tierney and Jane Egan Eccles. Judy wanted to continue programs they started and make a difference for the betterment of students’ (and staff members’) health and safety. |

SueEllen Lydon-Daddona, known to her students as "Miss Lydon", taught in the Waltham Public Schools for 36 years. She began her career teaching 3rd and 5th grades at the Fitch School before joining the Elementary Science Department. She feels very fortunate to have taught her favorite subject in all of the elementary and middle schools in Waltham. |

Marie McKenzie retired as Director of Reading K-12/Language Arts K-5 in 2009. Prior to that, Marie was a classroom teacher in Grades 2 and 4 and a reading specialist working with students in Grades 1-9. And, in a true Waltham Public Schools coincidence, Marie’s first classroom (Grade 4 at Newhall School, now the Winchester Crane Apartments,) was her mother’s (Alice White McKenzie) first classroom when she started her career in Waltham as a Grade 5 teacher! |

Regina Pacitti
In the last year, I sold both my childhood and personal homes and bought a renovated ranch in North Waltham. Rescue lab Randy has been my canine companion for 7 years. I continue to serve the Commonwealth as a Justice of the Peace and hold the office of Director in the JP professional association. I've done a lot of short excursions and just returned from the Hamptons. Italy, Australia, and New Zealand are next. I do water aerobics, would like to try golf, and would love to play on a bocce or bowling league although I'm not sure how well my recuperated elbow would function. I broke my elbow 2 years ago tripping over a backyard bunny hole and now have screws and plates in the elbow.

Carol Simeone retired as Head Payroll Clerk for Waltham Public Schools in 2002, after almost 20 years of service. Working in the Payroll Office allowed Carol the pleasure of meeting almost every school employee, helping them with their payroll and benefit needs. Prior to the Payroll Office, Carol worked at the Vocational High School for four years as a school clerk. Even today she enjoys seeing the trucks and signs all around town of these former students, now professionals...and now we’re paying them to fix something for us! |
