Wayne T. McCarthy Wayne McCarthy attended the Warrendale School, Kennedy Jr. High, and graduated Waltham High School in 1968. Believing in community service he started as a parent volunteer at the Fitzgerald School and an assistant with the Math Counts competitive travel team for middle school students. As his daughter Colleen progressed through school he taught classes for Project G.A.T.E. and served as co-chair of the Kennedy Middle School Advisory Council, and on both the Vocational School Advisory Council and the Waltham High School Advisory Council. Officially employed by the School System beginning in 1995 he is an instructor in the Chapter 74 Vocational Career and Technical Education Graphic Communications Program. His community service includes serving as a member of the management staff of the Waltham Girls Softball League, President of the Waltham Friends of English, member of the Board of Trustees of the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation, Captain of the Lexington Minute Men, member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Waltham Public Library, and is currently President of the Waltham Historical Society.
