ELAINE T. (MAGNER) MCDONALD Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at her home in Needham. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert P. "Bob" McDonald; three sons, Robert, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Lexington, Steven and his wife Donna of Westford, and Michael of Needham. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Robert, III, Kyle, Brianna, Steven, Sean, and Ryan, and by twin great-grandchildren Luca and Kaeton. Elaine received a B.A. degree in History and Education from Emmanuel College, class of 1954, and taught in the Quincy and Waltham school systems. Following maternal leave to raise a family, Elaine went on to obtain a M.EDUC. from Lesly College in 1976, and entered special education testing in the Waltham school district, where she served for 16 years. She was actively involved in local activities, and served as president of the St. Bartholomew Catholic Guild. Elaine enjoyed golf at Charles River Country Club in Newton, the Eastman Golf Club in Grantham, NH, and the Jupiter Hills Club in Tequesta, FL, almost as much as spoiling her offspring, traveling, and casinos.
